Children in troubled worlds aims to raise the profile of child psychotherapy, to promote understanding of psychoanalytic ideas in the wider culture, and to explore the links between psychoanalytic thinking and the arts.

We have originated, organised and presented a once yearly
conference in Oxford, England since 2002.

The Children in troubled worlds conferences exist to promote the work
of child and adolescent psychotherapy. The benefits of this work have
been amply demonstrated by the material and method presented at the conferences and by the routine work undertaken by psychotherapists in
this field.

The live supervisions and the papers that are presented illustrate the important and effective part that therapy can play when working with children and adolescents.

In particular, the conferences have drawn on the visual and written arts as a way of giving a greater understanding of the psychotherapeutic process.

The conferences are organised by Gerry Byrne, Kate Carling and
Ellie Roberts who are all Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists.

The conferences are non profit making, all the expenses associated to them being paid for, from conference fees.
