Understanding infants’ and young children’s
experiences of real and imagined worlds

‘children in troubled worlds’ Through detailed
observations, clinical material, video and a ‘live’
supervision, this conference focused on the
infant and young child’s experiences of real
and imagined worlds. Using theories and ideas
from psychoanalysis, neuroscience and child
development research, the behaviours,
communication and development of babies
and young children were explored.
Workshops facilitated by child psychotherapists
provided space for participants to bring clinical
material for discussion.
